Docketbook to Support $1bn Regional Queensland Project

Docketbook is delighted to announce its appointment to support construction delivery across both North and South Package 1 of the Rockhampton Ring Road project.

Bielby-BMD Joint Venture and Acciona-Fulton Hogan Joint Venture have engaged Docketbook to provide a digital solution for contractors and suppliers to collaborate across a universally accessible digital docket system on North and South Package 1 of the Rockhampton Ring Road.

The digital docket system replaces traditional paper-based dockets used by the industry to manage deliveries, labour, materials and goods. Utilised for evidence of delivery, receipt, and acceptance of goods and services, traditional paper-based dockets create manual data entry, paperwork, and other time-consuming tasks while being prone to error or loss. Traditional methods create delays in recording and processing information, which can result in inefficient project management and significant delays to invoice processing and payments.

“We are thrilled to be part of a vital infrastructure project for Central Queensland and for Docketbook to be utilised by four of Australia’s leading contractors to support the efficient delivery of the project,” said Docketbook CEO, Mark Shepherd-Smith.

“Docketbook will be deployed by the joint ventures throughout their delivery teams and supply chains, creating efficiencies and networks while reducing payment times, disputes and costs associated with traditional paper dockets. Any supplier on either of the packages of work can create a Docketbook account and digitise their paper-based processes. Doing so will create an efficient and cost-effective solution that will give all parties greater certainty, transparency, and information regarding every aspect of material, labour, and services utilised throughout the project.”

“As an industry, construction and infrastructure produce approximately 450,000 paper dockets each day at a processing cost of around $10 per docket, accounting for 1% of all supply chain costs. For the entire project and every business of every size involved in its delivery, Docketbook will improve processing and payment times, reduce costs and administrative burdens, and free people up to do what they do best - build world-class infrastructure. For the region’s businesses, the innovative thinking shown by Bielby, BMD, Acciona and Fulton Hogan in deploying Docketbook will have lasting benefits for the project and business community,” said Mark.

Fulton Hogan’s Bonney Emmett welcomed the opportunity to leverage technology to boost productivity and sustainability across the project.

“The success of any project, particularly a vital regional infrastructure project, is reliant on support from and engagement with local suppliers, and we believe that Docketbook will support those goals across the delivery of Rockhampton Ring Road. We’re delighted to be able to deploy a Queensland designed and engineered technology to support local businesses who will work with our project teams to create a vital transport link for Rockhampton and Central Queensland,” said Bonney.
